The TITAN® Heat Treat System offers significant advantages for both commercial and captive heat treaters, plus OEMs who have typically outsourced all their heat treatment in the past. 01. How can I learn about basic operation and maintenance of vacuum furnaces?

Attend Ipsen U, a 3-day training class held at our Illinois facility several times per year.

02. Can I have sample test parts run by Ipsen to prove process capabilities?

Yes. Sample testing on customer furnished material is available.

03. What kind of fixturing do I need to hold my parts during heat treating?

There are several vendors in the industry that can provide solutions for racking and fixturing of parts. Contact us and we will guide you to the best fit.

04. What voltages are available with the TITAN® vacuum furnace?

The equipment has the capability to operate on 220, 380, 400, 480 at 50/60 Hz, 3 Phase.

05. If a furnace were run in the USA, then transferred to China, how is language & conversion to °C handled?

The software system currently supports 18+ languages including Chinese, along with easy conversion to degrees C. This change can be done with the click of the mouse. The TITAN® is also designed to fit in a standard container.

06. What languages are available in the control system?

With the click of a button, languages are changed. Languages currently supported by the system: Bulgarian, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish.

07. The furnace is on wheels. How easy is it to move?

Although the TITAN® weighs approximately 12,000 lbs, it was designed to be moved by two technicians and the assistance of a forklift.

08. Can I use my existing water system?

Yes. However we would encourage the use of the closed loop water system offered as optional equipment for the TITAN® to ensure system integrity and optimal water quality and cooling.

09. Why should I purchase an Ipsen vacuum furnace?

Ipsen has over 60 years of experience in the development of heat treatment systems. Our field service engineers are experts in the field and are located throughout the world. No matter where you are located, the Ipsen support team will deliver prompt, expert service to keep your furnace running smoothly.

10. Where is the TITAN® vacuum furnace manufactured?

The TITAN® vacuum furnace is manufactured in the United States and was designed to meet Global Standards.

11. What documentation will be provided with the furnace to assist our maintenance personnel?

A copy of the Operations manual will be stored in the furnace's computer for easy access to drawings and vendor manuals for individual components.

01. Can I buy the base model option now and add options later?

Yes, the options are designed for simple integration in the field.

02. If I lease the furnace, do I contact Ipsen or GE Capital?

Contact Ipsen at 800.365.8879 or titan@ipsenusa.com. A lease application will be forwarded to your attention.

03. Ipsen shows a standard lease of 60 months. Are different lease durations available?

Yes. Although the 60-month duration is our standard lease, other lease terms are available.

04. What is the warranty on a Titan vacuum furnace?

The Titan vacuum furnace comes with a one (1) year warranty.

05. If I want to rent the furnace, what commitment must I make?

Each rental includes a one time Rental Agreement Fee and a 3-month minimum rental payment prior to shipment - both of which are non-refundable. After this minimum rental period, the rental contract can be cancelled with 30 days notice.

06. Can I purchase a unit that I have been renting?

Yes. Contact Ipsen at 800.365.8879 or titan@ipsenusa.com for information about cancelling your Rental Agreement and purchasing your Titan vacuum furnace.

01. I have never installed a vacuum furnace before. What kind of support is available?

The Titan is very easy to install and, if required, Ipsen can provide a proposal to have one of our field service engineers support the customer during equipment installation.

02. Are service and maintenance plans available?

Yes. Plans are available through the Ipsen service organization. Contact Ipsen at 800.365.8879 or titan@ipsenusa.com.

03. Where do I go for spare parts or service?

Ipsen maintains an extensive inventory of parts and our service organization is ready to address your Titan needs. Please contact Ipsen at 800.365.8879 or titan@ipsenusa.com.

04. How often should we change the oil in the mechanical pump?

For most pumps it should be changed every three months. Frequency can be affected by the cleanliness of the parts being processed in the furnace. Please follow the pump manufacturer's recommendation for the appropriate replacement oil

05. How often should the valves and springs be changed in the mechanical pump?

If the oil is being changed every three months, the valves and springs can be changed every other oil change.

06. What do I do if there is very little water flow to our heat exchanger?

Check for restrictions in the water lines. Check the inlet water pressure. Check the valve operation open/close.

07. The load in our furnace is coming out with a blue tint. What can cause this?

An unwanted blue tint to the load is typically caused by an air leak. Performing a leak-up rate test will indicate if the furnace has an air leak.
