Burton Industries, Inc. Orders Ipsen Vacuum Carburizing Furnace With Oil Quench

Cherry Valley, IL (July 22, 2009) – Ipsen, Inc. has received a purchase order from Burton Industries Inc. for an AVAC™ (Acetylene Vacuum Carburizing) low pressure vacuum carburizing furnace with a 2 bar gas and oil quench. This furnace system was ordered as part of Burton's expansion program. It will have a 36" (914mm) x 48" (1219mm) x 36" (914mm) workspace.

Burton Industries, Inc., located in North Babylon on Long Island, NY, is an aerospace and commercial heat treating company. Burton is adding this Ipsen AVAC™ unit to their existing line of vacuum furnaces for heat treating aerospace and medical parts. The company also specializes in aluminum heat treating for the aircraft industry.

Ipsen will design and build this unit in their Rockford, IL facility and will install the furnace in the coming months. Ipsen offers both single and multi-chamber AVAC™ furnaces for low pressure carburizing applications.
